  • Dr. John T Bingham

Dr. John Bingham is originally from Maiden, NC and had an interesting prelude to his veterinary career: from 1973 – 1975, he served aboard a U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker based in Kodiak, Alaska, patrolling the Aleutian islands and Bering Sea. Dr. Bingham did his undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University, and then earned his DVM from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. He worked in a mixed animal practice in Lake Norman for 2 years before he and Dr. Mark Stehr purchased South Ridge Veterinary Hospital in 1988. Dr. Bingham is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, on the board of directors for the Cabarrus Emergency Veterinary Clinic, and is a member and past president of the Greater Cabarrus Veterinary Society. He has a special interest in and affinity for small animal orthopedics.

With his Coast Guard background, it should come as no surprise that Dr. Bingham has a passion for all water activities, especially scuba diving, kayaking, and sailing. He also enjoys spending as much time as possible with his daughter Shannon and son Tyler, who are both now college students. A loyal Carolina Panthers fan since the team’s very beginning, Dr. Bingham and his wife, Caroline, often attend Panthers games. They have a busy, happy household of 6 dogs and cats: Abby, a Golden Retriever; Jewel, a Beagle; Willie, a Maine Coon cat; Petie, a cream colored DSH cat; Ripley, a tabby DSH cat; and Alvin, a black and white DSH cat.

  • Dr. Bert Parker

Dr. Bert Parker is a native of Gates county, NC and grew up on a farm; as a matter of fact, his parents still live there and raise one of our state’s favorite crops: peanuts. Dr. Parker has a B.S. in Agronomy (Crop and Soil Science) from North Carolina State University, and in 1986, he received his veterinary degree from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced large animal medicine in Salisbury, NC until 1990, when he joined veterinary college friends Dr. Stehr and Dr. Bingham as a veterinarian and owner of South Ridge Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Parker is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, North Carolina Veterinary Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners. He is quite skilled and adept at treating all types of large animals, from horses and cows to sheep and pigs, but his particular area of interest lies in equine and bovine reproductive services.

Dr. Parker is an enthusiastic supporter of NCSU football, and during the fall, you may spot him and his wife Mary cheering in the stands or tailgating with friends somewhere around Carter Finley stadium. They also appreciate the country life on their local farm; actually, Dr. Parker says with a smile that his main hobby is “money pit projects on the farm.” He and Mary have a 13 year old American Quarter horse named Tanner Bob; a 6 year old Tennessee Walking horse named Trooper; and DSH short- and long-haired cats, including Barney, Bonnie, Max, and Zipper.
